Sebastian Model 

Sebastian is a tool to estimate the cost of protecting the world’s few hundred largest ports. It is based on the concept of a “minimum credible design.” While better options may exist on a case-by-case basis, our dike design could work and be built almost anywhere. An aggregate cost to build these individual dikes results in an order-of-magnitude estimate to protect the world’s ports against sea level rise. Sebastian allows users to enter information about a port, and then automatically generates an optimized model dike. Using these models and other data, Sebastian generates cost and resource estimates for these dikes.
